Day 99..."The Lord will Bless Faithfulness...The Awe of God...Awesome Events"

The reading from Deuteronomy 7 sounds "big picture" in nature. If you honor God, there will be blessings and blessingness. The images of mulitplying in number and blessings, fruit, no illness and calamity... sounds like Isaiah's writing of Zion. A beautiful and idealistic place of worshiping God alone. Is Canaan not viewed as another Garden of Eden (prior to the fall), the New Jerusalem, and the Kingdom of God? God does want our life to be blessed. He seeks us to live in covenant with Him and be faithful. Our disobedience does take away from the ideal. Psalm 99 regards God's holiness and awesomeness..."Let them praise your great and awesome name! Holy is He!" The awe of Jesus in seen through Luke today. Jesus invites His disciples to fish for men. After "no bites" all night...the disciples nets were filled and their boats started sinking from the weight of all the fish. Awe is also witnessed by the healing of the paralyzed man lowered through the roof. (see day 61) What an awesome event! The healing power of Jesus and the faith of the people to find a way to bring the man to Jesus!
