Day 131..."Get Up...Why have you fallen on your face? The size of the heart makes a big offering!"
Joshua is to lead as Moses. After crossing the Jordan, the people grumble as they did crossing the Red Sea. As Joshua begins to feel down, God challenges him by saying...“Get up! Why have you fallen on your face? Spiritual leadership must arise on such occasions. In chapter 8 a similar challenge is is given to Joshua..."Do not fear and do not be dismayed." A strategy of ambush was then planned against Ai. The stategy worked and Israel prevailed. A very short Psalm 131 concludes with a beautiful line about hope..."O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forevermore." The widow's offering is one of my favorite stories. Two small coins proved larged than wealth. She gave all. The others gave larger offerings but still had more to give. In God's Kingdom, offerings are seen through the size of the heart.

I was raised with the encouragement that "Your sins will find you out." Achan is one of many examples of this fact. Sin can not be hidden. I was encouraged to keep a short list of sins to confess and for which to repent daily for in Jesus is forgiveness and life.
