Day 136..."More Land Allotments...twenty-seven repeats...Jesus' death"
In Joshua 17-18, there are more land allotments. Joseph's allotment was questioned as too small and hilly. Only the Canannites had chariots at the time. The use of iron for chariots would not take place for Israel, as of yet, according to the footnotes in the NIV. Otherwise...the land distribution and geography is presented in a "matter of fact" fashion. From "matter of fact" to dramatic, the Psalmist uses an intensification twenty-seven times..."the steadfast love of the Lord endures forever." There is also a link in the Psalm with the land distribution in Joshua..."and gave their land as a heritage, for his steadfast love endures forever; a heritage to Israel his servant, for his steadfast love endures forever." Luke gives an account of Jesus'd death and burial. One of the distinctive discriptions of Luke is the crowds reaction..."And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home beating their breasts."
Another is the reference to the Sabbath rest.
