Day 143..."Psalm 142 and Psalm 143"
The Psalmist admits in 142, his enemies are strong and he is overmatched...I cry to you, O Lord;I say, “You are my refuge,my portion in the land of the living.” Attend to my cry,for I am brought very low! Deliver me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me!" We can feel overmatched with our lives. The good news is these are the times we rely on God's power. The bottom line is when we recogize our need of God's strength we are stronger than our times of self-suffiency. The Psalmist is reflective in 143... "I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that you have done;I ponder the work of your hands. I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land." Our soul is also thirsty for God. When we neglect our soul, we are parched. As we grow in the Word, we are refreshed as cases of bottled water.
