Day 157..."A Gory Story...Love...Bread"

Judges 19 and 20 contain a very gory story. A concubine is brutally apprehended and gang raped through the night. She dies the next day. In protest she is cut in 12 pieces to show the indignant violation...in outrage a war breaks out. Israel prevails in seeking justice over the tribe of Benjamin and thousands die. Proverbs speaks of love covering hatred..."Hatred stirs up strife,but love covers all offenses." In John are the miracles of the "feeding the five thousand", "walking on water", and the teaching of Jesus being the bread of life. This is the first of seven "I am" sayings of John.
