Day 158..."Wife Supply...Gems...Jesus' Teaching about bread of life."

The Benjamites were so decimated from the loss of life in the conflict with Israel that wives were needed to repopulate. Israel complied by providing a wife supply. The Proverbs has several pearls of wisdom today such as..."One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched,and one who waters will himself be watered" and "Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety." Jesus teaches and the disciples have difficulty understand Jesus as the "bread of life" and His body being the source of life. Our vantage point of Holy Communion makes this more understood. We can only imagine how confusing this teaching was to the disciples and how it angered the Jews.
