Day 165..."Searching for donkeys and finding a king...Isolation...Abundant Life"

Saul's story is very unusual. He went searching for donkeys and wound finding a king. God does use ordinary events to lead people to their appointed times and places. Saul was also head and shoulders above everyone else...literally. Isolation may be one of the greater problems in our culture today. The Proverbs nails the danger of withdrawing..."Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment." Opinions are overated as well..."A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion." Jesus says..."I am the door" and "I am the good shepherd." One of the passages I like to quote and keep to memory is John 10:10..."I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." Anything less than Jesus' abundant life is robbing what God intented.

For those reading the bible on line, please note we are one day off.

The readings for Wed the 17th (Samuel 7, 8; Proverbs 17; John 9:35-41) for some reason were omitted.

So, the Wed link goes to Thursday's readings. The Thur link goes to Friday's readings, etc.

I believe God is the author of all our Bible, and includes today's readings in Pr. that Says "a wife is a good thing from God." No where, that I am aware, does it say that a husband is a good thing! Praise God for our wives!
