Day 341..."More requirements of the Temple...Godless Chatter"

Ezekiel continues the detail of the temple. Today's reading is focused on the prince, Levites, and priests. There are strong requirements of not entering the way of the Lord. The Lord does enter the temple and glory is described. Chapter forty-five lays out the division of the land and instructions for offerings. Again, this reading in Ezekiel resembles Leviticus. Paul writes about the dangers of loving money..."For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs." I once preached a message, when a very wealthy person objected to my comments. He was actually correct. I had said "money was the root of all evil." The mistake was I left out the important word of "love." The "love" of money does destroy. Paul closes I Timothy with some interesting comments about "Godless chatter"..."O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge,” for by professing it some have swerved from the faith." This could be one of the greatest dangers to a church..."Godless chatter" that substitutes for teaching and living for Christ.
