Day 2 "Who is to Blame?"
Yes, Jack B. we still have trouble grasping God's vision. Today's reading gives us some answers to "what happened?" Today's question is "Who do we blame for the fall? The serpent (evil one), Eve, Adam? Is it because we are all sinners? Or is it as stated in Disciple 1 Bible Study..."we are all buckpassers?" What do you think?

It does not matter who is to blame, what matters now is how do we respond to God calling us back to Him.
I think that it is our nature to be sinners...we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. Yet over time we have evolved into buckpassers because none of REALLY want to think of ourselves as sinners, now do we?
It's easier not to live up to our expectations if we have a built in reason that puts blame somewhere other than ourselves.
It's good to see a discussion here. I'm also using the original posts from the archives for more of Philip's insight. Just click on archives August 2006 on the column to the right of the daily post.
"Who" is an important question. Eve was deceived but Adam chose to follow Eve and Satan... therefore, all who follow in Adam's life line are like him with "original sin." Then comes the second "Adam" Jesus - the lamb slain before the foundation of the world who gives us the opportunity to be re-born back into the family of God. God only has one plan and desires that all come to him through Jesus our Lord by repenting and being baptised -the form of our death to the old "Adam", and life in the new Adam "Jesus"- a new creation. Glory to God!
