Day 46 Why did Jesus come down on religious people?

The Matthew reading has Jesus come down hard on religious people. Why did Jesus come down so hard on them? The answer is simple. They were the ones that gave Jesus the most trouble. When religious people observe the letter of the law but no spirit...a major reason for being religious is lost. Jesus teaches about mercy, justice, and grace in addition to keeping the law.
