Day 100 What is our response to today's reading?
Today's reading reminds us God provides for us. We are not self-sufficient and certainly do no have the power to make things happen. Deuteronomy says..."Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth." God is the source of our blessings. The 100 Psalm reminds us to enter into God's presence with thanksgiving and praise. Jesus says He came to focus on the sick not the well. (This is not exclusive since we are all sick) The Great Provider, The Great Source of Thanksgiving, and The Great Physician all are images that God will truly provide. The daily reading is certainly a good way for us to be reminded of this truth that God comes first and everything is from God.
When we say "Give us this day our daily bread", for me it's like my daily bread.
