Day 114 "What is our choice peace or division?

In today's reading, Jesus says..."“I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled! I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished! Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” Does this mean Jesus is not the Prince of Peace? No. Jesus is both. When we live against Jesus' teaching, He brings division. If we live for Him, He brings peace. It depends on our response to Jesus. (For more read day 114, November, 2006)

In today's (Wed) PNJ the letters to the editor continue a discussion between those who believe our Govt. has changed from "Christian" ideals and those who believe "Christian" ideals of Govt. needed changing. One of many examples of Jesus' teaching on division and peace. Our form of Government give us the freedom for each to do as He seems fit, just as in the time of the book of Judges.
