Day 138 Why do we teach so little about the Ascension?

Obviously, Jesus' birth, crucifixion, and resurrection are the central events to the Gospel story. We say very little about the Ascension. Why so little? Although Luke's Words are brief...consider the significance..."Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple blessing God." Think about how awesome witnessing the Ascension would have been. This is Jesus ascending into Heaven and Luke's last recorded act of Jesus. The Great Commission concludes Matthew. Mark competes his with signs and wonders. John finished with Jesus' reinstatement of Peter. Look for a message about the Ascension this year.
