Day 184 How ironic that today's reading has David and Jesus both accused?
David is confronted by Nathan and is guilty. Jesus is confronted on the way to the Cross and is innocent. In reading both texts, we can see a bridge needed for humanity. Even though David is recognized as having a heart for God...he obviously lost control of his passions and judgment regarding Bathsheba. He not only commited adultery but orchestrated Uriah's death in battle. David, representing humanity, needed Jesus' death on the cross. Jesus wrongfully accused took on the sin of humanity like David.
