Day 191 How old was David when he died?
How old was David when he died? I am still researching. Does anyone know? Here is how David's death is described in Kings. "Then David slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David. And the time that David reigned over Israel was forty years. He reigned seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem. So Solomon sat on the throne of David his father, and his kingdom was firmly established."

According to wikipedia, he lived 70 years, from 1037-967BC*. However, there is an asterisk because a Wikipedia editor feels that the preceding statement is likely to be challenged

Interesting. Thanks for the info Jack B. According to the Bible Dictionary...David was born in 1040 B.C.
Now that we know when David was born, perhaps someone clever could figure out when he died. From 1 Kings 6:1
In the four hundred and eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the Lord.
