Day 219 What were the images of David as a leader?

David was blessed with leadership skills, looks, courage, and a "heart for God." His images of leadership for Israel is summed up in the text today..."And the Lord your God said to you, ‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over my people Israel." David was to be a shepherd and a prince. A shepherd is one who keeps the flock. What a flock to keep! The image of prince also indicates he is chosen to lead.
