Day 226 When was the first mass choir?
Every wondered when the first mass choir was organized? Could have been in the Book of Acts with the early Church. Or angels singing in the distance somewhere along the way. How about the answer in today's reading. David organized a group of singers..."The number of them along with their brothers, who were trained in singing to the Lord, all who were skillful, was 288. And they cast lots for their duties, small and great, teacher and pupil alike." Were they casting lots for solos? Who knows. Nevertheless a large choir of 288.
