Day 239 What to make of Ananias and Sapphira?

The Ananias and Sapphira story of "withholding from an offering" is more about lying than robbing. All they had to do was be truthful. The consequences of small lies with big consequences have never been truer in this story. Amazingly, small lies are so unecessary but often do lead to tragic consequences. In this case the worst...death.

On another note, Peter was not strongly suited for pastoral care! The death of Ananias and Sapphira seem to illustrate the message of truth more than being a "good shepherd."
