Day 270 How do we explain human behavior?
How do we explain the inconsistency of human behavior? Saying one thing doing another? Or not being able to change. One explanation is Paul's..."For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with the law, that it is good. So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing." The struggle to overcome and change has always been a challenge. Only by the Grace of God do we have a chance.

1 Comments:
The message on control of human behavior continues in Ch 8 with the answer: To walk in the Spirit as sons of God. The message of John the Bapt., Jesus, and the 1st Church was "repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand." Repent from/for what? We sin because we are sinners, conceived, born, live as our earthly fathers - in sin. If we repent of WHO WE ARE, are born again in Christ Jesus, become a new Creation/creature in the resurrection life of Christ, die to this world and alive to God, we will enter into the Glory of Rm. 8 as "Son's of God! There is more to this life in Christ Jesus than just getting to heaven. Praise God!
