Day 312 What does eyes to the heart mean?
Paul writes..."I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms." What are the eyes to the heart? The heart is a metaphor, according to Dr. Greg Clapper,...the center of who we really are and the place of our affections and allegiance. The eyes of the heart would be our conversion into the hope of Christ. I love the image of eyes to the heart. A popular praise song references this teaching of Paul.
