Day 316 What did Paul actually teach men about loving their wives?

The myths of Paul's teaching about marriage may impact public opinion more than the actual words of Paul in the Bible. Paul does teach about wives submitting themselves to their husband. But this is only half of the teaching! Paul teaches that husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the Church. How did Christ love the Church? He loved enough to die for her. A husbands love is to serve and offer complete love for their wife. Here are Paul's actual words..."
Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." The second part changes the entire meaning of the first part.
