Day 365 Where do we end our journey through the Bible?

We began this journey through the Bible with the awe of creation! Our final chapter is also about a tree but this one bears fruit..."Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever." What a finish a tree of fruit for every month and a light that needs no lamp or sun! We finish as we began in the awe of the Almighty God! May the awesome God from Genesis to Revelation bless you all!

You do a lot of reading. But do you really READ the Bible? Do you read it closely and subtly? Do you refer back to the Greek and Aramaic texts to check for accuracey of the translation you use? How do reconcile all of the contradictions. How do you reconcile the violence of the OT, where genocide is a regular occurance, with message of peace of The Christ? Are we worshipping a different god now than then?
How do you reconcile which commandments to follow and which ones not. For example Jesus condemns divorce but he has not one word to say about same sex relationships, yet the UMC condemns same sex relationships and condones divorce. The OT talks about tithing 10% but Jesus has not one word to say about tithing except that he condems the love of money.

Yes the Bible begins with the awe of creation. But it has two versions of the creation story. Which is correct?

How do you reconcile what we know is scientifically true with what the two stories in Genesis have to say?

If there were only two orginial people there sure must of been a lot of incest taking place!
